Steve Becker came highly recommended to me by a very good friend and former RUF Factory employee. I recently had Steve fully rebuild the long-block for my 1998 RUF Turbo R (1 of 14 “W09” original factory cars) that needed to be fully refreshed after an eleven year storage. These particular RUF “911 Turbo” engines are based on the Porsche 962 race engines that Steve has a great deal of expertise with. Steve disassembled, inspected, assessed, and documented his findings to ensure a precise rebuild to RUF factory specs with a few additional durability enhancements. Steve was also able to complete the cylinder head rebuilds and custom cylinder head seal installs/machining for this +500HP twin turbo engine at his workshop. The workmanship and attention to detail on the build was excellent and the product was delivered within the promised timeframe. Steve was great to communicate with throughout the project from planning through to delivery. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Steve to a friend or any Porsche enthusiast for their Porsche engine rebuilding needs. In fact, Steve has already started on my next 911 engine build project.

I was referred to Steve Becker by a long term friend who restores and races mostly early Porsches.
Steve is the owner machinist and technician at Becker 6 Engine Restorations in Hood River, Oregon.
I brought him my period correct 2.0L 911 engine for restoration and eventual placement into my 1966 911. Steve ended up building it out to 2.2L S specs, etc. As an added bonus, it was finished to concours quality by Steve along with a few final touches at Gordon Ledbetter’s shop afterwards. Then, we delivered it to Rothsport for dyno tuning where it ran great and generated more than expected torque and HP. From the moment I met Steve, I could tell he was going to be a pleasure to work with. He was very up front about each and every step and timely as well. His shop is small, but very organized, clean and fully equipped. I would definitely call him again for another build.
